At present, the Cybercab is not available for purchase; instead, Tesla plans to sell them in bulk to companies that can operate a large fleet of these vehicles. The economics of robotaxis are also worth considering. While the cost per ride may seem low – at least, compared to traditional taxi services – it is unclear how much profit Tesla stands to make on each transaction.
