XPRIZE, a non profit organization that incentivizes innovation through competitions, has tapped into this trend with its Future Vision competition.
The judges for this competition are an impressive lineup of sci fi luminaries: Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium; Neal Stephenson, novelist and coiner of the term "metaverse"; Mira Lane, vice president and founder of Google's AI prototyping lab Envisioning Studio; and Rod Roddenberry, CEO of Roddenberry Entertainment.
