Tragedy in the North: A Disturbing Echo of Past Failures The discovery of a 12 year old boy's remains in rural Alberta has sent shockwaves through the province.
The boy's body was found on August 6th near Calling Lake, over 200 kilometres north of Edmonton. Athabasca RCMP officers responded to a report of human remains found on Highway 813.
The investigation is now being led by the Major Crimes Unit. However, concerns have been raised about the effectiveness of Canada's child welfare systems.
